Happy New Years!

First off I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Years. Hopefully the resolutions that you pick you are able to stay with them. I have a few that I would like to accomplish. One is to start studying for the GRE. I have started but I have not been able to just dive in.

I have finished a few scarfs for my family that I need to ship out to them. I have also started making a scarf for charity as well as a few things hopefully for me!!

Yesterday I snuck in to see Josh's burn. It was pretty cool when they burnt the house down.

After the burn I went to my car to leave and noticed that my car wouldn't start. I was low on gas so thought was maybe that. I walked to the gas station got some gas got harassed by a hobo and filled my tank. Click Beep Click Beep Click Beep......hmmm well it wasn't the gas. So next thought was the battery now that I am getting clicking. I find a guy (and his family) in the parking lot of dunkin donuts and got a jump. He thought the beeping was odd as well. BUT I got it running so I could get home and out of the heat.

Well I must get back to knitting the scarf!

Ho ho and more hos

This was a different Christmas. My first Christmas with out my family. That was a little hard on me. However this was my second Christmas with Josh. Although he doesn't get into the holidays like I do. Our apartment would not be big enough for my Christmas tree. We were thinking whether or not we wanted to get a Christmas tree way to long because it was Christmas Eve Eve and we didn't have a tree and I hadn't done ANY Christmas shopping. Well that sucked so I ended up decorating the fake tree that sits in our corner and put a tree skirt around. On Christmas Eve Josh was very anxious and wanted to open presents. Well I put my foot down and went to bed. The next morning I was up at 9 and Josh was still sleeping. I guess he stayed up to see if Santa was real or not. At about 1 his mom called to wish him a Merry Christmas. I figured well she is up on the West coast so Josh can get up. I turned on Christmas music in the room and he, of course, ran out saying noooooo not that! Shame Christmas music only comes on once a year. Well he got up made me open my present first. This was the first present he has ever wrapped, so he says, and the first actual present he bought for Christmas before Christmas. Well it was a very cute attempt at wrapping. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of it. He used an entire roll of tape wrapped around and around. Oh and I was not allowed to use a knife to open it....darn. Well I finally got it open and he got me an mp3 player!!! So that is cool. It is a Sandisk and all pretty and black. Since it was a good gift I let him open his presents. A thing of nuts, chocolate covered cherries, tin of popcorn, a keyboard, and a bbq. He did get an early Christmas present (his bike) so i did put that behind the tree. After all of that and a few minutes of playing with our toys, we put the bbq together and cleaned up. We were having chick next door over and one of Josh's friends. Cooked some good chicken and played cranium while drinkings. Girls against boys. Needless to say us girls KICKED ASS. We are good at drawing and acting. Well today I am going to do some laundry since I don't have anything to wear to work anymore. sigh

Hope everyone had a great Christmas!!!!

Is it friday yet?

I just got back from about 2 weeks in the field (not counting the weekend) Let me just say I am ready for the weekend....Just one more day. I did that the two days after Christmas. Those five days will be spent with yarn and cats!!! This week I did see a lot of cute baby cows. And going out all the time is making the dog miss me more and attack me at the dog by licking.

barely alive

well it has been a loong long week. I have been out in the middle of no where working my butt off with 15+ hour days. This weekend I still have a lot to do workwise. I am going back to the middle of nowhere so tomorrow I am getting my paperwork together and putting in my hefty time sheet. Hopefully I can get all my cards sent out on Monday. I wasn't finished addressing them last weekend. So have no fear, if I have your address your card is on the way!

Tonight Josh is taking me to look at christmas lights in the area. That has been a tradition in my family since I can remember. I think I might have even gotten him to go with me later to get our picture taken. We will see.

Well I am going to go play with some yarn and make some cookies!

so ends another month

I haven't been online for the last few days due to internet problems. Here is a quick catch up on what has/is happening:
  • Thanksgiving went good. Nothing got burnt. It was really small, just josh and I. We (meaning I) cooked herb roasted turkey breasts, mashed potatoes, roasted potatoes, cheesy potato casserole, mac and cheese, candied yams, bread, and apple pie. Yes I know that is a lot of potatoes. I started with just the casserole, and thought I really want mashed potatoes, but josh hates them so I will do both. Then after both was started I thought wait what if the casserole is too cheesy for josh. Anyways it was good.
  • Went shopping day after thanksgiving. Didn't really buy anything...BUT I got my hair cut!!!
  • Friday we finally got the mail straightened out. For about a month (ish) I haven't been receiving any mail. Josh's has been coming but mine were being sent back. I talked with the mail man and he was shocked I was still living there. Somehow all my mail was ending up in the Outgoing box so he thought I moved out. He just started sending all the mail back to the sender. So far so good!!!
  • I finished knitting my scarf out of the pink variegated cotton yarn. I think it is pretty.
  • I just started a new scarf in gray wool. I have to find a semi formal outfit to wear.
  • I also have to buy a gift for the gift exchange. arg

Just makes me proud

I got this as an im and thought that I should share it for ALL to see!

Tale of Four Fans

There were 4 football fans: a Georgia Fan, a Florida St. Fan, a Clemson Fan and a South Carolina Fan. All were arguing about who was the most die hard, loyal fan. So to settle this, they climbed to the highest mountain top.

Once there, the Georgia Fan proclaimed "This is for the Bulldogs!" and jumped off the mountain singing "Glory, Glory to old Georgia" as he fell to his death.

Not to be outdone, the Florida State fan yells "This is for the Seminoles" and jumps to his death screaming, "Go Noles Go"!

Refusing to be outdone, the Clemson fan yells "This is for the Tigers," pushes the South Carolina fan off the side of the mountain and shouts .............. "FLY GAMECOCK FLY!"

Kitty!!

Currenty I have a kitten under my leg.....

It has been a crazy week for me. My birthday was last monday. I got lots of emails, ims, text messages, and phone calls. Thank you all. It was very nice. The shocking thing is that my dad was the only person not to call, write, or email. Calling I can understand since the regular phones have been shit off. But I was shocked he didnt even email me. So my sister talked to him two days after my birthday and that was when he emailed me saying he forgot. Well.....to late

Anyways I just finshed a christmas table center thing (picture to come). This will be given away. Hopefully I will put it in the mail after thanksgiving.

Well back to yarn!

oh no its happening again!

The great pumkin is done! It looks ok unstuffed. I have to either find my stuffing or go out and buy some. That might have to wait because I have been soo busy. I have pretty much been working all weekend. I have restarted a scarf with my cotton yarn (see past posts for photo) I have decided on a simple box stitch pattern and so far it is coming out pretty nice. Hopefully it will be finished during this next week. We will just have to see how it all goes.

I forgot how humid and hot it is here and carved our pumpkins early. I just new there wasn't going to be time this weekend. Well the worst has happened. I walked over to them today and noticed that Trogdor's mouth was gone. And my reaper guy wasn't looking to hot either. so I opened them up and OH MY it was a jungle. So they must be laid to rest before halloween sad to say. If I can find my stuffing then at least we will have one pumpkin out. lol

Onward to my scarf with little kitten in my lap. Lets see if she decides to attack my yarn again.....hopefully not.

sweet as piiie

This weekend has been a long one. I have struggled with my puter. Some how over night I got two different "virues" on lappy. It took all Sunday morning and part of the afternoon but they *should* be gone now. I am still running some tests. Today, I made two loafs of pumpkin bread. I think that it is pretty good...but I am bias. I also started to make a knitted pumpkin for Halloween. not too far into it but pics if/when i get it done.

here kitty kitty kitty

This morning started like any other Sunday. I woke up took the dog out and started the laundry. I turned on the tv and folded some clothes. Then it happened......knocking on the door. I got up and the girl next door was at the door asking me if she could go through boys car. That was just odd to hear but then she went on to explain her dog was going crazy because there was a kitty stuck under/in his car. This kitten was meowing ALL night long. heh I guess I slept through that. So i got out my work tool box and started taking apart his car. So after 30 mins we finally got the kitten out.

A name for her is still up in the air. She is black with white socks and a little bit of white on her tummy.
I will update more on her later.

soaked

Yesterday we went to the beach for the first time since we moved here. We took dog and dog looooved it. He was swimming all over (first time swimming). However, on the walk from the parking lot to the beach he ended up getting sand burrs stuck in his paws and fur. When we got home i ended up cutting them out and then gave him a bath and cut his hair again. This time he got a total trim not just a few snips with the scissors.

Puppy try to dry off a little (before his trim)

Sunset at the beach. AWWWW

Had to get up early this morning to meet with
a bunch of my coworkers. We participated in coastal clean up. It was good to get out and walk around while making the environment all pretty. Afterward we went out to eat and then to the yarn store! woot. I bought 2 scans of micio yarn color 6 and one scan patagonia nature cotton in color 211 but on the color card it looks more like 213. I am not exactly sure what I want to make with these....probably scarfs. so if you have any ideas for patterns let me know. I an a little antsy to start with them but i promised myself that i would first finish what is on my needles.

Go to capitalonebowl.com to vote for your fav mascot!!!!

So the CLEMSON fsu game is on right now. GO TIGERS! OMG jimmy dean is done. That is all i have to say.

cooking by email

A few days ago I received an email about Neiman Marcus. It contained a recipes that they claim was the recipe for the cookies sold at Neiman Marcus. Well the entire email was a scam but it did have a recipe for the cookies. Looking at it I thought it would be fun to see if they are good. I am currently waiting for the oven to preheat before I put the batch in. The dough looks pretty awesome. If any of you are interested the recipe is as follows:

Neiman-Marcus Fake Cookies (Recipe may be halved)

Ingredients:
2 cups butter
2 cups sugar
2 cups brown sugar

4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
5 cups blended oatmeal
4 cups flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 8 oz. Hershey Bar (grated)
24 oz. chocolate chips
3 cups chopped nuts (your choice)

Directions:
Measure oatmeal, and blend in a blender to a fine powder.
Cream the butter and both sugars, add eggs and vanilla.
Mix together with flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder, and soda.
Add chocolate chips, Hershey Bar, and nuts.
Roll into balls, and place two inches apart on a cookie sheet.

Bake for 10 minutes at 375 degrees. Makes 112 cookies.

I left the nuts out of my cookies.

I finished my first knitting project last week. It is a criss cross cabled cozie. I have started on a pocket scarf for a present for some little ones. Time to put cookies in the oven. Lets hope they turn out!!!

No body puts baby in a corner!

Since moving here things have just seemed right. Everyone is telling me I am doing an awesome job at work. And that they think I have been there a lot longer than I really have been because I just fit in. That feels good to hear. I was out on a short (2 day) trip with one of the guys when I received a call from the office. They were having a drawing for Buccaneers tickets. I put my name down. There happens to be 50 people in my office and at least 20 people in my section (environmental). We got back to the office around 12 and at 1 they had the drawing. The other new girl (newer than me!) got two tickets and a parking pass. And somehow I got the second pack of two tickets and a parking pass!!! HELL YEAH!! Boy and I needed to go out and do something fun. It always seems like I am working and when I have free time he is working. He has started his classes so it is going to be a little crazy. Let me just say it was a great game against miami. We didn't win but it was really close (13-10 miami) The seat were in the nose bleed section but it was a great view and it didnt rain.
currenty i am making pizza, washing my field clothes, and working on my criss cross cable "glass" cozy.

badger badger badger

argh! a snake a snake

So I was doing some laundry today and was picking some towels in the bathroom and saw a worm. OMG so I yelled at boy and he started poking it and said umm I don't think worms move that fast. I think it is a little snake. It was black and about 3 inches long. So about 10 mins later we finally got it and let it outside. That was a little odd.

Please enjoy the music while you are on hold....lalalalala

For about the last week I have been having problems with my internet. It is kinda funny actually. We have the brand new fiber optic cable internet and TV. For the last week or so the internet has kicked us off every 5 to 10 mins. It kinda sucks. We have called Verizon many many MANY times. They have sent a lot of ppl out...like 5. First, they insisted that it was on our end...like our computers. We finally convinced them that we really are using two different computers and experiencing the same problems at the same time on both computers. Then they came out and was convinced that it was the equipment on our end. That seems more reasonable than it being our puters. Well they changed EVERYTHING..the router, the box outside, the freakin cables. Well that didn't work *sigh* They came out and did it again! Still didn't work....surprise surprise. Then a new guy...a higher up guy....came out. He did everything AGAIN. And then said yeah I thought so it IS on our end. I had to redo everything just to be on the safe side. So they had to turn off the internet to about 100 ppl last night at about 1am. This was to update the software. Apparently, we got old software and was the only one experiencing problems. So fixing the software would fix this problem right? WRONG!!! It is still doing the same thing. After work I called them and told them there was still a problem. Well this is very odd they say. They have moved this problem up to the engineers. Will they be able to fix this horrible occurrence. I do hope so. I miss being online for more than 20 minutes. Until we get the internet up and running I might not be on any ims. You can still reach me on email....gmail is the best I can check that at work too! Lets hope they fix it soon.
Wish me luck!

somethings fishy!

Today marks the one year anniversary with my boy. It would be better if we were in the same city let alone the same time zone. Im stuck in Chattahoochee working on putting in some wells while he is in Tampa.

One of the girls I work with is up here at this site with me. We went finishing this afternoon because our job had to end early due to extreme weather conditions (thunder and lighting). Before the ran I lost my work phone somewhere by the railroad tracks...opps. Well we left the site and got ok to leave early and went back to get my phone as well as a few other items left there. We got supplies at walmart, ate, and then went fishing.

That is the fish we caught. We named him Javier. After an hour in the bucket we finally let him go. No reason to keep him here because we don't have a fridge. heh its all good!

ok now to bed!!

It's raining, It's pouring

Today was a lazy day. I slept in late....very late. When I did get up I sat in the front room for a few minutes listening to the rain to lighten up. It was thundering earlier this morning. I heard a siern in the distance. It got louder and then stopped. That happened two more times before I got up and looked out the window. Well of course I didn't see anything. I walked over to the bedroom where Josh was looking out the window as another siern was approaching. We decided to go for a walk and find out what was going on. Once we turned the corner we saw flames. So of course I ran back and got my camera and ran back. One of the duplexes was on fire. We had to walk around the long way to get to the front of the duplex but I got a bunch of pics (coming as soon as my batteries charge up again). Now to get back to site supervisor training!!

Monday, June 26, 2006

For the record

I am still alive! I lasted my first day out in the field. It was pretty cool. I got to play in some dirt run the errands (I don't have my site supervisor yet...hopefully this week!!) I got to talk to some cool dillers. and oooOOOOooo I got to see a bunch of trains....a bunch of HUGE trains! No pics as of yet. I was too busy running around with my head cut off. I was suppose to go to another site all week long this week....but well you know how it goes. The paperwork didnt get finished so it was delayed. *sigh* I am heading over to Jacksonville sometime this week....and maybe next week.

I am not a noob anymore. There is a new girl to blame everything on. She just started today. I told her to give me a call and we can hang out or if she needs help finding anything we could get lost together...lol

I have ordered a new power cord for lappy. It should come the lasted by friday!! wooooo

I got my business cards now.....but with my wrong email. Soon I should have some new ones!!

This evening I have to take the guy next door to pick up his suit. The is a drunk bastard...lol. A guy that is umm "hurt" from work. Boy is tired of driving him around. He is the type that always knows what is best. Boy took him to the place earlier and well lets just say he found out it wasn't coke in his coke can. So me being a hard ass is going to handle him.

Rules for this little trip:
  1. No drinking *anything* in my car (yes I did empty my car of all the water bottles)
  2. No touching my radio....my car my music
  3. No being an ass to anyone while im around (this afternoon he was being assy to a guy cuz he thought he was an arab.....well turns out that guy was't)
  4. And no taking long...why because I have a life

Sunday, June 18, 2006

So we have internet now....however, my lappy's power cord is umm broken. There is a short in it and I have to at least wait til pay day before I can get a new one. Boy brought me a puter but we think that there is something wrong with the video card. It will not get the signal from either one of our monitors. Yeah it kinda sucks. Right now I have stolen boys puter and well I think he is getting a little bored of watching me type and having the tv on. I have still been checking my gmail account when I am at work.

Last week I was sent to Orlando. That was an interesting week. I completed my HAZWOPER class. For those of you who don't know what HAZWOPER is it is hazardous waste operations and emergency response. The instructor tried to make that class entertaining and I thanked him. Otherwise I would have slept ALL week long. The company put me up in a hotel all week so I would have to make the 70 mile drive. I left on Monday to get up there for the start of the class on Tuesday. This was the time frame of our first storm of the season. It didn't upgrade past a tropical storm and where I was didn't get hit bad. The house just got a lot of rain. Tornadoes did hit down in the next county.

oooo in class I got to dress up in a training bunny suit. It is so cool. They let me take it home so I can get pics of it.

This week I am going to Cantonment. They are going to ship me all over. Wish me luck!!

no internet!!

Right now I am sitting in my backyard stealing someone's internet. I think I am going to set up the swing so I can sit on that and be able to still type. Inside the house I don't get as good of service. On the 15th we should have cable internet so watch out world. So far everything is going ok. I start work tomorrow. The weather has been nice to us so far. No hurricanes *knocks on wood*
About 25 boxes have been unpacked so far and it hasn't made a dent in our mess we call a house so far. *sigh* it is gonna be a while I just know it.

Ok that is enough of an update. Gotta go get things out for work tomorrow.

If at first you DO succeed, try not to look astonished!

This happened a lot faster than I thought it would. The lady didn't want me to worry all weekend because I told her we were heading down to Florida on tues. At 5:45 this afternoon I got a call from the apartment lady. WE GOT THE PLACE!! So that takes a lot off of my mind. We wont have to worry about driving there and not having a place to unload now. I called the electric company and it will be $170 deposit!!!! I don't know...maybe it is just me...I have never done this before but 170 bucks sounds like a lot. The gas company (same company but different number to call) was closed so I will have to call back on tues. I have to pay the electric company by tues night wed morning.

It's ok because we have a home!

downfall-I looked up the sex offenders site and there is one sex offender just down the road from me. But I don't I should be worried I am of legal age. The creepy thing about him is that he is smiling...yes I said smiling...in his online photo...wtf That is just a little screwed up.

Anyways...If anyone wants my new address give me your address, email or snail mail, and I will send it out as soon as I get the chance.

Friday, May 26, 2006

My house?

After almost a week of not hearing from the apartment people I called them today. After they check our credit we have a house. She already gave me an address....BUT the credit check has to go through first. *gasp* I am trying not to get my hopes up too high.

This is one of the few places that boy and I have both agreed on with out to much persuasion. It is a complex (55 acres) of duplex. We are both liking that a lot better than regular apartments. We will also have that backyard and two bedrooms.

Anyways here is a pic of my might be new pad. Yes I used google map. It rocks!!!
I'll have trees!!!

I should hear back from her either today or tues/wed. This is really cutting it close. On tues we get the penske and pack it up. Hopefully we will also leave on tues. If not we will be leaving not to late after that.

State Laws of Florida

These are some of the state laws I have found for my new state.....I am scared
Things to keep in mind while you are reading this is that if someone did not do these things it wouldn't be a law.

  • Women may be fined for falling asleep under a hair dryer, as can the salon owner. (Well maybe they don't want your hair to burn?)
  • A special law prohibits unmarried women from parachuting on Sunday or she shall risk arrest, fine, and/or jailing. (good thing I am afraid of heights)
  • If an elephant is left tied to a parking meter, the parking fee has to be paid just as it would for a vehicle. (Always bring my purse when I ride my elephant into town)
  • It is illegal to sing in a public place while attired in a swimsuit. (Reminder to self always bring a change of clothes in case I feel the need to break out into song)
  • Men may not be seen publicly in any kind of strapless gown. (Shame...I have always liked to see a man all dressed up. I guess I will have to make sure boy has a strapped gown to wear out)
  • Having sexual relations with a porcupine is illegal. (not to mention it might hurt....make sure you pet him the correct way)
  • It is illegal to skateboard without a license.
  • When having sex, only the missionary position is legal. (I would really like to know how they will monitor that)
  • Topless walking within a 150 foot zone between the beach and the street is prohibited
  • It is illegal to jog with your eyes closed.
  • It unlawful for you to put livestock on a school bus.

Ok I am going to try and get some sleep now

Ann Landers said it first.. not me.. but I do agree

ANN LANDERS:

Are geologists "different"? Spouses have stories...

Dear Ann Landers: This letter, my first ever to a columnist, was sparked by your column about the geologist’s wife who asked, "Are all geologists the very embodiment of all the virtues and qualities that are universally admired in humankind? Have they, alone, of all the professions, achieved a state of grace far beyond that ever speculated by history’s most hopeful philosophers and theologians?" The answer is "ABSOLUTELY!"
My father was a geologist. My three brothers and four uncles are geologists. Geologists ARE a different breed. (Here comes the important part) They are wise, often strikingly handsome, kind to small children and animals, sensitive to the subtleties of everything around them, and when it comes to relationships, well, Mom, my three sisters-in-law, and my four aunts seemed to always have a serene, deeply satisfied look of complete contentment. If only I could have hitched up with one, too.
A Jealous and Bitterly Resentful Wife of an Engineer

Dear Jealous: I've been swamped with letters from lucky wives, daughters, husbands, mothers and sisters of geologists. They've given me a real education, and made me feel a little jealous, too. Read on:

Portland: Geologists ARE different. And I say "Vive la difference!" I thought maybe I was the luckiest woman ever to have been born but I have found that other geologist's wives have similar experiences. My geologist husband has more sensitivity and consideration than ten "normal" men.
He’s absolutely wonderful with our children. After he puts is his usual twelve hour day at the office, he rushes home to be with the kids so I can spend a few hours of quiet time alone. During this time, he teaches the children cheerful songs while he prepares a delicious meal, balances the checkbook, and catches up on his letters to a group of shut-ins he has “adopted.” After dinner and the dishes, he helps the kids with their homework. Once the kids are in bed, he hurries to a downtown rec centere, where he coaches an inner-city youth basketball team. He gets back around 2 a.m., treats me like a young bride on her honeymoon (if you catch my drift), and after four hours of sleep, starts his day again, selflessly making life safe, loving and meaningful for others. I am so lucky to have this man in my life!

Denver: Ann, the best piece of advice you could pass along to your readers is this: If you can’t be one yourself, do whatever it takes to associate with as many geologists as you can. My life has been so rich, so meaningful, since I divorced the egghead engineer I was married to for twelve years. If I weren’t so ecstatic in all my waking hours, I would be in despair over all that wasted time. But in retrospect, I would have traded fifty years with “Mr. Pocket-Protector” for just a few weeks of the blissful existence I have with my big loveable rockhound. He has shown me all the richness that life holds. I spend hours just basking in the warmth of his vast knowledge of life, the universe, and everything. He has so much beauty and understanding. And he’s always ready to share that gift. He’s able to explain the most incredibly complex concepts in a way that helps you understand, and makes you feel just plain good all over. And how can anyone be so perfect, yet so warm and sensitive to the needs of others? Think of the world we would have if everyone were a geologist!

mmm...pizza

Ok we all know I used to go downtown oh so often back in the day. Since I have slowed down I think I have become allergic to the smoke. Well last night I went out for the LAST pizza night I will have in Clemson. That was sad. I am going to miss Clemson. I have had a lot of good times here with my girls. I got to see Hoopie in a bar legal last night. That was a sight. Jess and I made it an early night and I was ok with that planning on coming back and doing some packing. Instead I got home and talked to boy for a while. Then it started to happen. Couldn't breathe. I finally got to bed around 5 or 6 in the morning. Needless to say, I slept all day then did a few errands then took a long nap. It is 10 pm and I'm looking around saying damn I have to rearrange EVERYTHING so a realtor can some in tomorrow. If anyone wants to come over and help you know where I am :)

Any suggestions about what music I should download for my long car drive?

Cats and Dogs

Well today was umm an interesting day I guess I could say. I took Charlie Cat up to boys house to meet dog. Charlie did the normal hiss and swipe from inside his carrier. However, towards the end of the night I was holding kitty and dog came up to me and there was NO hissing!!! I am a little shocked. This will take a while for them to get used to each other. I just hope that no one or thing gets hurt in the process.

Tomorrow I need to:
  • Get money orders from the bank
  • Mail apartment applications and money orders
  • Close my savings account and transfer the money to checking
  • Pack more boxes
  • Finish laundry
  • GO TO PIZZA NIGHT
  • Give Jess back a lot of her clothes and shoes and chocolate chips because I want going away cookies!!!
  • and umm I'm sure that there are a lot of other things I just cant think of right now

I do like flowers!

So I have around 8 days left in South Carolina. I say around 8 because Boy and I might move down a little bit sooner. Not so sure though. He now officially isn't working at his old job. He needs to have a few days off to get things together, say good bye to his friends and father, and to South Carolina. I think he might be excited. In the last 5 minutes he has imed me 3 times reminding me that we are moving to FL. This isn't a new thing. I am just going to take it that he is extremely excited.

Last night, instead of packing, I started making a sweater, the Posy Panel "Crew". I WAS packing when I came across a magizine I bought in 2004 and it had this cute sweater in it. I thought you know what I have a lot of this freakin maroon yarn left over. I want to try out this pattern before I go buy some nice yarn and make it for me. Then I can give someone this sweater as a present because I know how cool it is going to be. So I started it I have half the back done (I couldn't sleep last night because I got ate up by bugs the other day) so far it is looking good. Now who is going to be the poor sap that gets it. Well if it turns out good then either my sis, lat or jess. If it is crappy with one arm a foot longer then the other then I think Whore should get it. Well it WOULD fit in with the rest of her clothing.

Ok off to pack more. Then to wally world to get something for these damn bug bites on my feet!!!

10, 9, 8....

Well I have ten days left in South Carolina. I have been packing like crazy. My sister came out here for a few days to help go through my moms stuff and we did just that. As well as pack up a lot of crap. The entire kitchen, front room, and my stuff upstairs. All I have left is EVERYTHING downstairs and a few odds and ends I noticed we forgot about. That is ok I can do it providing I have enough boxes. I think I might go dumpster diving for boxes tonight/tomorrow. Any suggestions where to go?

"Most" of my clothes are packed right now. About half of what was hanging in the closet and a few drawers. I am finishing up some laundry so I can pack that.

End of the semester craziness

So it has been a very busy week. I have 5 tests and a HUGE project all due before finals start. Also, I have started to pack up my crap as well as my moms. I am in the process of finding a storage unit to store this stuff in until my sister can come out and haul it back to Utah to store is there. If I don't a storage unit filed by next Tuesday I will probably lose all my mom stuff. Yeah my father WOULD do that. You might be wondering why next Tuesday....that is such an odd time. Well Tuesday I am going to Tampa. Yeah you heard me. My phone interview went really well. It was surprisingly short. I think I was on the phone with my sister after the interview long than I was with the guy. Well they want me to go down there and meet all the senor executives. So that means I get a free flight (leaving tues from g-vegas coming back wedn to g-vegas) free hotel and they are paying me back for the rental car. heh I like the sound of that. I think I need another little mini vacation. I just wish it wasn't so stressful on the wedn. I asked for an itinerary for while I was down there and well this is what I got

0830-0900: Barbara (Introduction to ARCADIS/Application/Benefits)
0900-0930: Chip
0930-1000: Kathy
1000-1030: Leslie
1030-1100: Janette
1100-1215
: Lunch (Brandy, Melvin, Brian; Andy)
1215-100: Greg

yeah that is only half the day but it is a lot to do and handle for that short time. I have know idea what I am going to do or say. And some time before I leave this tues I have to find a way to get a suit and shoes and have my hair and nails done. I guess I should also do a little more research into the company too and maybe these people I am meeting...heh...stalky stalky

Anyone know how much salary I should ask for....cuz I sure don't know. I know that Greg asked me that during our phone interview.

Well I ended up getting a lot of my moms things taken care of this evening starting around 9. I got a call from my father.....He was telling me that he was going to throw my moms stuff away soon. So earlier today I did get a storage unit and figured hey I have a test tomorrow. I can move this stuff after my test. One day won't hurt anything. Then that phone call came. So yeah I was upset. I started packing my car up. Then boy text msg me and I called him back crying and telling him what happened. He got off work and got his dad to come down with his truck and helped me move a lot of the stuff that was already in the boxes and lots of pictures and family photos my dad would have ended up throwing away. Boy would have come down too but he had to go back to work. But it was still really sweet of him.

On a good note....I found my moms knitting machine!!! woo so someday I am going to have to try it out. It looks like a lot of fun I just hope it has directions. I also found the baby blanket my mom made for me a few years ago. And in the box with the knitting machine I found another one she made for me cuz she made one for my sister and I said how much I liked it.

Well I guess I should get back to studying seeing this post took me literally all day to write. I think I started writing it about 9 am and well I am now done with it at 12 27 am

oh soon I am going to post on my photo album the pictures from when boy took me to the beach a few weekends ago :D

im not allowed to say this but he really is a sweetheart. heh <3

I think I might of had a stroke

I got home today and opened my email and I had gotten an email back from one of my many job apps. It is from arcadis, which is an environmental company. That is all I really know about it right now. I am going to do some uber research on it tonight. Well the email they sent me was so I could set up a phone interview with them. This is my first real interview. Yeah I have been on interviews before with these little peon jobs. They never really mattered so I really didnt care about the interviews. But this one is like a big deal! If I do well and end up getting this job I will still be on the East coast, however I will be in tampa, fl. Still humid and but I think I can deal with it if they offer me enough. :D

Ok my things to do list is:
  • research arcadis
  • find out what kind of job requirements I will have
  • find out what those job requirements are
  • figure out what the hell they are going to ask in this phone interview
  • come up with some spiffy way to make myself shine

hmm guess I should tone up my phone/paging voice for this...LMFAO!

This will all be happening AFTER dinner tonight. So if anyone wants to help im me, email me, or comment. Right now Im going out to dinner with dad and the whore.

When I get back I also need to upload the pics from the beach and post them. (boy was so sweet and took me to myrtle beach this last weekend)

Crap!

Ok so it has been a really long time since I posted. Well...what can I say..I've been keeping myself busy. The bookstore is now pretty much done with the remodel. All of our month long buddies have now left and we are back to the same old same old routine....*sigh*

Well I am currently in search of boxes and packers...anyone want to help....jk

So here's what is going on.....(warning it is really long)

One of my fathers friends moved here a while back. When my dad got laid off this friend told him to come out to south carolina because there are lots of jobs here! So we packed up and moved to Westminster. That has been the smallest town I have ever lived in. The south has been a complete shock for me. Well I transferred all my credits and started going to school. I was also the first one to get a job in the new state. It took my father a few months to find a job. He ended up getting a job at the same place his friend worked. After living in the rental house for a while we decided we needed a place that we could actually be warm during the winter. So my parents bought a house in Seneca. My father company got bought and split up. So he transferred to the same company as his friend. Shortly after we bought the house, my mother died. That was hard. About a year later my father started seeing this girl....Whore....why do I call her that. Well she has earned that name. She moved in on christmas eve...without even a warning.....with her two dogs!!!! At that point I have only had the chance to meet this girl once. WTF! So now she is still living with us. My fathers friend is never happy with his current job and is always on the search for a new and better one. His friend has gotten hired with a company out in Kansas City. He has now offered my father a job and my dad has accepted it. Well we all knew this was happening, however, there was no timeline given to us when we first talked about this. I found out last week that sometime within the next two weeks he was going out to Kansas City to help the company setup........by that I am assuming it is a new company that is just starting.....ok well setting up that seems ok. And his girlfriend is going with him.....my question was are you taking the dogs....yes yes they are :-D Then he tells me that next week his is going to have the realtor over to start selling the house. And we are just hoping that the house does not sell until after I graduate. Otherwise, I don't have a place to stay. So ok I get it...I need to start packing. I have been thinking about packing up anyways for when I do graduate and find a job I can move to it. When I talk about packing I am really saying going through my boxes and throwing a lot of junk I have kept over the years. Sure I will keep a few things from when I was growing up and it will be a lot harder to throw away a lot of stuff that reminds me of my mom because that is all we have left of her. Speaking of that....my father has been wanting to go through her stuff and throw it all away! I can understand some of the things....however some things you just can't get rid of. My brother and sister has not had the chance to come out and go through all of it. They should have the right before it is all trashed. I do understand where he is coming from but he is being self centered....he is only thinking of himself....not of what anyelse wants. Just what ever would make him happy. So some how I have to find the time between work and school to go and pack my stuff and to make sure he doesn't go through and throw everything away. So his whore said she would go through and pack the stuff up.....I DON'T WANT HER TO GO THROUGH MY MOMS STUFF!!! wtf....that is just sick and wrong...have my dads new screw buddy go and touch and possibly take my mothers items. I don't know this girl....all I know is she likes to drink....and lay in bed and let her dogs shit all over the place.....

There is a positive side to this, my sister and her kids might come out and help me pack and get mom's things in order.

Boy is going to take me to the beach Easter weekend. I need a break but I'm not sure if I should take one. I don't trust either one of them to stay home alone with my mom's stuff. That is when they would have the opportunity to get rid of it all....and yes my father would do that and not tell me about it. Maybe I will get to see a shark...I like sharks :)

so lets all hope I graduate in may and can find a good paying job in Texas. I need to have a few more positive check marks in my column....

So that has been what has happened since my last post

But Ill try to post more about what is going on when more drama happens

Not a fan of snowflakes

So I have decided to burn all my candles so when I do move I won't have to throw then away. That just seems like a huge waste to me...I mean I spent all that money just to throw them away. I got two candles from the bookstore around christmas time and I have still been burning them. I thought they were cute so I got two.

Now isn't that a pretty candle. It has blue and white snowflakes and has a very light smell of pepermint.

Ok so I have only been burning one....

So I'm sitting here in my front room working on some potholders with some christmas yarn I found (yeah a xmas candles and yarn!!). So I look up to see the movie I am watching, panic room on cbs, and I see this lovely image.

Yeah that is that cute little candle about to burn my house down! I am thinking that maybe one of those nice little snowflakes caught on fire. I have to say I was a little shocked. The fire was rolling from side to side in that glass container

This is the burnt candle afterward. Needless to say, I am not going to burn that other candle. Let it be a waste!

Ok so I guess I am back to my potholders. One is almost done!!

No Good Deed Goes Unpunished

So I decided to take the day off from school today. Growing up when I did this my mom had me help clean the house. Blast her! My day off I spent it cleaning the house...I really washed my glass door and inside of my windows! So while I was cleaning my Cat went crazy. There was this little dog outside. As I went out to throw away my first can of trash I thought to myself I wonder if that is one of the dogs from across the street. I called my dad and he said it was prob from up the street and they are always out. Ok fine I let her be. This little dog came back that day and girl saw her take up the creek. About 20 minutes later I am outside repotting some plants and I hear the old lady across the street yelling. So I go over there and she tells me her little dog got out. Yeah that came to my house twice. I helped looked and couldnt find it. While I am outside washing my patio doors I hear this dog out behind my house and it is crying like it is hurt. So what do I do...I go inside and put on my hiking boots. I go over to the creek and start to follow it up. My boots have been through a lot and well they aren't really water proof anymore. So I hike my but up that creek having to get out of the water cuz it got a little deep. Find the dog on the OTHER side of the creek. Not the ladys dog...this is a new dog...a cute little puppy. Well I couldnt get to it and I wasnt going to try. In that 20 minutes trying to find the dog I got all sorts of scratched up and maybe even a little posion ivy. I am not sure....I just see a little dot on my hand like the last time I got posion ivy. if it turns into two dots tomorrow then we will know what it is. On my way back down the creek, I got stuck in the creek bed...by that I mean I couldn't get up the bank because there were too many thorns. So I try my luck and head down the creek.....it got really deep. Like up to my knees. So my boots are in my window drying out and I'm washing my brand new jeans. They still haven't found the dog so i get to listen to this readneck older lady yell the dogs name, GeeChee I think, and then Come Hoooome. If I was the dog I know I wouldn't be in a hurry to come home to that. Well I'm off to do more cleaning!!!!

Dusty Dusty

Well I have started taking pictures of our remodel at the ole' bookstore.

This is the day before the guys came to start ripping our store apart. This picture is looking into A & E. Currently, we have maybe 5 pens for sale in the ENTIRE store. Pretty much all of A & E is packed up.

This is what our front end looks like the day before the guys came over. We are now operating out on the floor. There is no customer service area in the front end...wooo

This is the first day of our remodeling effort. The front desk is well surrounded by plastic! We don't have a computer to look up book prices, we don't have buyback, and well we don't have any phones. heh....That means WE don't have to answer them!

This is looking in a crack to see what the boys are up to. If you look at the door you can see he is ripping it off. That was really loud and our freakin fire alarms went off. I'm just glad it was 76 outside today :)

This is a closer view behind the plastic. I didn't get the wall in the picture where our film and clock normally is at because it is gone. The soda machines are just standing there with no wall!

This is the first day of the remodel looking into A & E. There is only a small area where we are selling those 5 pens.

When I left today they were starting to rip up the carpet as well as rip off the molding around the clothing wall, starting at the lockers.

Well this has been a very exciting week. We started this and I have taken two tests.....
My phone broke today. A huge piece came off right at the hinge...So tomorrow when I get out of birdwatching I am going to go up to Anderson to get that looked at. I went today and got there at 7:02...Sprint closed at 7:00 *sigh*

Well its been a long week so I think I am going to go to bed waay early tonight.

More pictures of the store to come

There is more than one cylinder?

So I broke down yesterday and went to the Ford dealership. They fixed my brakes last year and well the brake light has been on for about a week and my brakes were squeaking. Well I finished Whore's blanket there while this young mother of two was pretty much drooling on my yarn. She was a little shocked that I could do something like that at a young age....well umm I don't have two kids, one of which will scream until he gets his way. Yeah that was a long.....hour? They knocked off the glaze on my brakes (i didnt know cars came in glazed) and filled up my break fluid. Then told me that I should check my master cylinder in a few days to make sure it is not damp. If it is damp then it is leaking....*sigh* lets hope it is still dry. It is about time to get two new front tires..heh

well off to bed gotta get up and go to ashias baby shower tomorrow :-D

Can you find the fish?

Yesterday I decided I needed to do something with my fish tank. Currently, I have a 2 gallon tank with a beta fish, Orca the Killer Goldfish. This winter the tank has been getting cold and well Orca doesn't like that. Seeing as I am soo smart I kept the light on all the time to warm the water up and it has warmed it up a lot. It also has created a surge or algea growth. So yesterday afternoon I decided to set up my other fish tank. It is a 10 gallon tank that is from walmart I think. Well Orca the Killer Goldfish is currently in the 10 gallon tank with a few fake plants. I am thinking when i get money to get another snail and put the snail and Orca back in the 2 gallon tank. THEN I can get me those sharks!!!!

Oh yeah I did have a snail before.....I killed it. Boy and I went and got me a snail and he named it shelly. It did a good job cleaning up all the algea then. However, a few months later it passed on. I killed our love snail (see how to lose a guy in 10 days if you dont get it).

Now the plan for today is
  • laundry
  • lab
  • homework
  • vaccum

Yeah I think that will do for now. I am halfway done with the laundry part. Just waiting till whore gets her clothes out of the washing machine.

Late New Year's Resolutions

heh thanks Stephanie. Well I was surfing on her post figuring out how she did all those cool links and I found this new years resolutions post. So yeah I have found a few resolutions that I am going to try and keep with all year and I just wanted to share them with you
  1. Catch a sexually transmitted disease.
  2. Find out who I got that STD from.
  3. Spend more time surfing porn at work.
  4. Not strip for free anymore.
  5. To get a carnivorous fish. (ok that one I really am going to do...I want to get a small shark!!!)
  6. Dedicate my life to making someone else's horribly miserable.(now who will the lucky person be.....boy or whore.....hmm cant be that mean to boy he buys me dinner.....hmmm but whore buys me breakfast. hmm let's just make it whoever is within 3 feet of me at the time :) )
  7. Train my cats to hunt hamsters. (Ill have to talk to Jessica about that one....She got her cats to kill her little hamster)
  8. Stealing all of my music off of the Internet.(but I already do that)

so yeah that just took about 20 minutes out of my studying time....but I am not complaining. The other day I noticed that my new backpack has a rip on the inside. I bought it in August from amazon and was a little shocked that it hasn't even lasted a year! I emailed High Sierra on Monday and I am still waiting for a response on what they will do. If I don't hear anything tomorrow from them I think that they might get swamp with emails from me....yeah that's right I can do it.

Next week Clemson is having a career fair that will last for two days. This might be my chance to get a foot in the door. Hopefully I can make it to the first day. I have a lot of classes that day, so I probably will not be able to make it that day. This time I am not going there to just steal stuff, so I guess I will start on my resume and plan on what I am wearing. Thurs I know that I will run upstairs seeing I will be working downstairs. Afterwards, I have my birdwatching class so I'm gonna have to change (there is no why that I am going hiking and looking at little birdies in heels lol). So if anyone has any suggestions about this career fair feel free to post them.

No what should I do for dinner. I have LOTS of leftovers but I am not feeling them right now. Maybe I'll cook some pasta. That is fast and simple :)

Sprint-together with NEXTEL

what an exciting day. I think that I spent over an hour at the sprint store in seneca. Why you might ask. To get the whore a phone on our plan. Why? Well to the best of my knowledge I am a genius. Yes, that is right...you heard me. I figure that my father and the whore are well not smart enough to go in and say hey I need to add a new phone line to my plan. But hey I got to spend an hour there and tried to pick out the worst free phone they had. I was a little dissapionted that they didn't have and really crappy free phones. You guys know which ones I am talking about. The green and black screens that are about 5 pounds. no... none of those :(

So I'm off to have an exciting night of studying. wooo!

Im Not Dying!!!

Yeah that is right...I said it. I think that I am going to make it through this month. My sinus headaches arent nearly as bad (heh i can open and close my eyes without that wonderfully blinding pain). I have my car keys now. oh yes I forgot that little story. Well flash back moment:

Well it was Wednesday when I had to close at the bookstore. I was working with Kevin M and Mike. We were in a hurry, I had to pee like no other and well kevin wanted to go work out. So we finished counting our drawers and got all our stuff and rushed out. I got to pee....that was wonderful! I then proceeded to my car while I called stephanie. Once i reached the parking lot I noticed that I was missing my keys. I had taken them off my belt clip earlier cuz they were hitting me. So there I am about 6:30 and it is dark and cold. I can't get into my car and i can't get into the bookstore. I call my father and well he is at his moose lodge meeting and wont be free for a few hours. So Super Stephanie comes and saves the day with her sexy little manual doors and locks rental car and takes me back to her house. We end up chilin there for a bit going through her cupboards.....canned salmon.....hmm. Finally, I call my dad and he is almost home so Super Stephanie and I go to my house get my keys, I finish off the bottle of childrens cough syrup (for my throat) and head over to the local drug store in clemson to get more meds. heh then to celebrate we go to taco hell. heh i do like their food :)

The next day when I show up to work my boss Donna looks at me and says we have your keys here I think......yeah i was sooo aware of it :)

ok well physics is about to start now....wooo

My new name?

so i had my bird watching class today. I have to admit that is my favorite class. Today we got to go out and hike and look at birds. I think I am going to take my camera next time. Well to get the the point of this, I need to come up with a bird name. So any suggestions?

first post!

Well this is the first post of many I hope. Hopefully I will keep up with this one.

Well, it is 1 am and I cant really sleep so I'm putting my energy into this.

Currently I'm making a baby blanket for one of the girl I work with. The baby shower is coming up soon so I better hurry up and get it done. It is going to consit of 20 of these squares.

Once this gets done then I can work on the other 6 projects I have started.
